DR. ANGELA WHEELER
Dr. Angela Wheeler Community Activist for Education, Entrepreneur, Health & Wellness and Creating Solutions to enhance Community. Dr. Wheeler worked 32 years with educational experience for strategic planning, collaborating with staff, administration and school boards to service education programs. Dr. Wheeler served on Education Boards to allocate funds for Oakland Education Programs to enhance student’s ability in redesigned school programs for reducing class-size and designed after school programs. She created Education Workshops for staff and Parents, organized Career Day events, prepared Graduation Events as Event Coordinator for High Schools. |
Dr. Wheeler served on various committees to empower student’s Education: Black Student Union Advisor, NAACP Education Committee Member, African American Task Force Committee Member, International Education Committee Member, Athletics Committee Member, Academic Enrichment Committee Member, Performing Arts Academy Committee Member, and Social Department Chair Committee Member.
Dr. Wheeler served as Entrepreneur Director for students to increase Global Careers. She first started the First Entrepreneur Club at Skyline High School where she received an Award for this Entrepreneur Club from Former Mayor, Ron Dellums.
Dr. Wheeler has retired from Education and is now serving the Health and Wellness community.
Her mother Ann Weaver passed with a disease called Sarcoidosis in 1995 at a young age of 54. Dr. Wheeler is promoting Sarcoidosis Awareness, improving the quality of life for individuals with this disease. She works with Dr. Geoffrey Watson’s Preventative Care Pathways, offering programs to assist the Sarcoidosis community. Dr. Wheeler has participated with community to solve solutions. She assisted Mother Ann Wright’s program with homeless, food preparation/clothing, distribution accommodations. She also served as Program Director for Omega Psi Phi Talent Hunt for Scholarships.
Dr. Wheeler is Founder of Ann Weaver Foundation & “Words of Encouragement” Scholarships to assist students in College, Awarding Tributes to Oakland Community for Unity Love Day, Celebrity Consultant working with various Celebrities to enhance community.
Dr. Wheeler’s Graduation Class of Oakland Technical High School of 1981 is a part of a National History Day, ” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday”, was created through this “Apollo” Class in the State of California. The “Apollo” Class made this a State Holiday first, then to National. She was Awarded and Communicated with his son Martin Luther King, III, thanking the “Class of Apollo 1981”.
Dr. Wheeler has a passion for students Education and assisting community with Health and Wellness Programs. She is dedicated to continue research for a cure for Sarcoidosis and has partnership with Public and Private Organizations, Celebrity Advocates, Stakeholders, and Medical Community, Local and National Spokesperson with interest to heighten awareness of Sarcoidosis aligned with the Foundations works to promote its Mission on the memory of the late Ann Weaver, who gracefully struggled with Sarcoidosis for 32 years.
